 Heavy Trash Pick Up    Water Service

Bulky trash pick up is performed on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. This service is limited to four (4) large bulk items, and four (4) bags per residence. These items ARE NOT to be placed at the street until one (1) day prior to scheduled monthly pick up.

Acceptable items: (limit (4) large items and (4) bags

  • Household Appliances
  • Refrigerators (must have Freon drained and be tagged accordingly by certified technician)
  • Hot water heaters (must be drained)
  • Furniture
  • Grills (must be emptied of ash or briquettes - No propane tanks)
  • Bundled brush (not to exceed 4' in length or 50 lbs., tied and easily handled by one person)
  • Bags
  • Wood (easily manageable by one person)
  • Doors (easily manageable by one person)
  • Fencing (easily manageable by one person)

Unacceptable items:

  • Nails
  • Sheetrock or drywall
  • Windows
  • Insulation
  • Stone
  • Tree Trunks
  • Water Softeners
  • Tires
  • Steel or cast iron building materials
  • Tile
  • Paneling
  • Carpet
  • Masonry debris
  • Roofing material
  • Pool filters
  • Lawn mowers
  • Concrete
  • Dirt in large quantities

Water bills are mailed on the first day of each month and are considered late on the 15th day of each month and incur late fees.

For your convenience, you  may now pay your water bill online.

The rate for trash collection if $16.48 per month.  All refuse must be contained inside the 95-gallon plastic cart issued by Allied Waste.  Refuse that is not contained in the cart will not be collected.  If you require more service, contact City Hall to request a second cart.  The cost for the second cart is $7.50 per month.

 All carts for trash pick up must be at the street by 7:00 a.m. with the lids opening towards the street and the handles facing your house.

Pick up days for the City of Prairie View are Tuesdays  of each week.
